| Experience: operational
Strategies and visions are good things to have, but what do you need in order to put them into practice? Terry Freedman has had a lot of experience and understanding of the impact on and implications for management "on the ground", be that on a local authority level or a school level.
Specific examples:
- carried out the restructuring of a service in order to deliver a higher quality service, including new job descriptions and lines of responsibility, and the associated negotiating and financial modelling
- introduced key performance indicators and other mechanisms for improving customer satisfaction
- written and introduced a staff handbook which was described by an Investors in People consultant as "excellent"
- been involved in recruitment, from initially idfentifying needs, through to drawing up job descriptions, person specifications and advertisements, interviewing, appointment, induction and probationary period monitoring
- managed ICT departments in schools and advised teachers and head teachers on managing ICT
