Flickr Toys: The Calendar Maker

The Flickr Toys website provides some great templates to help you and your classes get even more out of digital photography. I've been posting examples. Today, an example of a calendar.

Just think how great it would make the kids feel to have a class calendar! You could have a different photo for each month, and since that is only 12 pictures for the year, you could either set up an opportunity for the children themselves to decide on which photos should be included, or you could organise them into pairs and trios, charge them with the assignment of getting some photos, and making each group responsible for nominating a picture for inclusion in the calendar.

The calendar itself could be used to highlight vacation times and important events, like assignment deadlines and open days.

This tool is slightly tedious to use in the sense that in theory you have to use it 12 times for each calendar. In practice, of course, you could (and probably should) get the children to create their own.
